Just something I’ve noticed
For some reason it just doesn’t make sense to me how the dating world works in our era right now. Rules that everyone seems to follow for no reason:
1. The Guy has to text you first to talk to you or you are not going to talk to him.
2. The Guy is expected to pay for the meal or movie. The date or whatever in general.
Personally I hate both of these. If I want to talk to you I am probably not going to wait for you to text me…I am going to treat you like any other friend I have and act like a friend through and through. That is something I think will build a good relationship with anyone just be their friend first then go from there. Everybody could use another friend to any degree and it can always build or not if you want it too.
Same goes for guys paying for everything, yes it is gentlemen like and nice but if I haven’t dated or gone out with you a lot let me pay for the date or at least for myself…It might just be me but it shows you have a sense of character and you know how to take care of yourself. Sure it might intimidate a guy but who cares, women are just or even more so capable then men at almost anything.
I don’t know really it just seems weird to me and the list of random things in the dating world that don’t make sense could go on and on.
My advice be friend with anyone and everyone, someone might just jump out and be that best friend you’re really looking for.
It seems so complicated when it could be so easy.
Well those are my random thoughts for right now. Makes sense to me at least.

i like all of these
- Before you status update, Tweet, Tumble or Instagram, pause and say to yourself, “is it entirely necessary that I share this morsel of thought with my entire social network?”and if the answer is not, “yes, I absolutely must,” then step away from the Internet.
- Know which candidate you’re going to vote for in the upcoming presidential election, and know why.
- Enough with the 14-day juice cleanses. If you want to lose a little weight quickly, eat less and exercise like crazy. If you want to lose a lot of weight slowly, do whatever Jennifer Hudson did.
- If you really like the person you’re hooking up with and would like them to be your boyfriend/ girlfriend, find a way to tell them, and hope for the best. If you don’t and wouldn’t, stop.
- Find a way to save approximately 300 dollars and spend it on a flight to see a friend or family member who lives far away.
- Please stop liking the Kardashians, all of them. It’s not helping anyone, least of all the Kardashians.
- Spend less than or equal to the money you earn each month.
- Wear clothes that fit you, especially to work.
- Call someone on the phone at least once a week, and speak to him or her for at least ten minutes.
- Start preparing now to get over the fact that Facebook is probably going to change again in six months. You’re not going to deactivate your account. You don’t know how.
- Wait 30 seconds before you look up a fact you can’t remember on your phone, and try to remember it using your brain. This is what the olden days were like.
- Replace one terrible reality show you’re currently watching with one wonderful scripted show currently available on television. Swap suggestion: Real Housewives of Anywhere for HBO’s Enlightened.
- Try that food you think you don’t like but have never actually tried, unless it’s brussels sprouts. They really don’t need any more attention.
- Cut one person out of your life who you truly do not like and add one person who you truly do. Note: not on Facebook, on Earth.
- If you’re still blacking out regularly, you should stop.
- Volunteer once over the next 90 days. You’ll feel really good about it, and probably end up volunteering again over the next 275.
- Tell someone who you love that you love them on a more regular basis. To their face, not in a text.
- Back up your entire online life onto an external hard drive, especially your photos.
- Crap or get off the pot. This applies to whatever thing you’re not doing that you should just sack up and do already.
- And in the eternal words of Tom Haverford, “TREAT YO SELF!”
Happy 2012 everyone!
Norman
September 6, 2011
Well I have been back in Norman for about a month now and it is the third week of school, rowing has started, and football season is in full swing. So far it looks like it will be a fun year of social activities, athletic events, rowing, and school. My class seem interesting and maybe even a little fun. Cherokee will be fun to learn and speak occasionally, and it goes along with my Native American music class.
Rowing started last week and has been kind of all over the place because for our first practice we all get there and there is no water in our river so we had to take time and move boats over to the other boat house area down the road. So we have to share the lake with kayakers and corporate rowing teams. It hasn’t been too bad since we get there at like 6 in the morning and apparently all the high profile athletes are rowing at worlds right now.
Besides school and rowing, I have been able to visit and see a lot of really good friends lately and am trying to stay in touch with them and have dinner or lunch every once in awhile. Jess, Chelsea, and Kendric have all been great listeners for me and are always looking out for me and I am glad I have them as such good friends. Even though I miss Chelsea a lot because we don’t room together anymore…but our dinner date was great last week.
Trying to see the positives in each day and move forward with my amazing friends and family. Starting to smile and wake up with a great attitude for what the day holds and what I can learn from it.
All in all my month back in Norman has had some ups and downs but over all everything is a learning experience…to surround yourself with great people and friends. So a thank you shout out to those who know me best and are always looking out for my best interest Schmecca, Morgan, Belle, Natalie, Kendric, Stacy, and of course my mom and dad. Love all of you.
Now time for sleep and to wake up at 5 for some more rowing and school. Gotta love the life you lead.
as my mom would say bye for now.

Henley!
Sunday August 7, 2011
Well we didn’t get a Henley gold but we had a hell of a great week! Watching race, racing, hanging with friends and family, cheering, and living up the Canadian Henley experience. Just loads of fun all around.
We made it to the final in the quad and got third! Which is pretty awesome and exciting if you think about how long I have been sculling and the average age for our U23 quad was 19. So I am super happy with that result and the U19 double we have been practicing with won a Henley gold the day before! So proud and excited for them, was fun training with them for the summer and all! Also the U23 mens quad won a Henley Gold too! So congrats to all of them especially Daniel Klassen. Who has been a great host for us this summer along with the amazing Katie Klassen always showing us a good time and making us better rowers :)
We have been seeing a lot of people we know, well mostly Rebecca seems to know everyone but the OU coaches are here to recruit and watch us race. The Winnipeg team is here and we trained with them over Christmas break so it has been great to see and talk to all of them. We have on day left here and then we are off to the airport tomorrow afternoon then I will be back in Norman, Rebecca will be in San Diego, my Dad will be back home in Az, and my Mom will be back to work in Detroit. It is always a challenge to keep track of everyone but we have had a great time while we have all been in Canada! I miss and love my parents so much and cherish the time I do get to spend with them.
As I will be off to Norman, I am beyond excited about my house that I will be living in and to see and talk to all my friends again. Then in a week or so Rebecca and Natalie will be driving up from Az together and it will be a great time with all my sisters back together again! Always miss my older sister and am excited she gets to come and hang out for a while before school and rowing starts!
It is hard to believe summer is almost and all that has happened both sad and exciting but that is life right? Time to move on and look forward to the future and remember the past fondly and smile.
Eh, Canada it has been fun but now it’s time for some adventures back in Norman y’all.

Necks getting heavy
Wednesday July 27, 2011
Well my parents are in town so I found it semi weird blogging because this is mostly for them but hey I suspect I have a few other readers too. So time for a quick update that with probably turn into a good 5 or 6 paragraphs as usual.
To start with the past weekend, our quad raced on Sunday and the doubles Saturday. So Saturday I just got to chill about and hangout with my rents and have a good time at the course. Helped out a little bit with hot seating since Katies races were really close together. Rebecca and Katie ended up getting second in the double on Saturday. For the quad on Sunday we had an injured person switch out of the boat and a senior rower switch in. So for a throw together boat we got second which we were all happy with. I am sure Rebecca would be the one to tell you that her neck is getting heavy with all the races and medals :)
After a fun weekend of racing and hanging with our lovely parents we went out to Port on Sunday night with some of Dan’s friends again. That is always a good time and I think we are hanging out again this Saturday.
We had Monday off so we just chilled and recovered. We went for a wine tour at Jackson Triggs. Was a great experience and tons of fun. We learned a lot about wine and the building the whinery was in. Even bought a bottle of ice wine to have a little later. Then our dad came and took us to dinner down the road at a nice restaurant called the Old Whinery. After dinner we went for some ice cream in Niagara-on-the-Lake and as we were leaving we stopped and watch the sun set on Lake Ontario. Was beautiful and I wished I had brought my camera with me to take some pretty pictures.
Tuesday was back to workouts day and it wasn’t too bad. We went swimming for a little bit in the afternoon which was fun. We were going to try and make it to Niagara Falls after practice but we will have to save that for another night because we got home too late. For tonight though it is free pool night again so we are going to go do that and have fun because we don’t have practice tomorrow morning. yay haha
For the rest of the week I think my dad is coming down tomorrow to watch us practice. Then Friday is that last day for coach boats on the water before Henley and then races start Tuesday. So we will be training up till then because the double doesn’t race till Wednesday and the quad till Thursday.
For the weekend our mom comes back Friday night so we will probably be hanging out with our wonderful parents then. Saturday we have plans all day to help the Klassens with there garage sale then we are going out to sushi with some of Dan’s friends. I love sushi and am really looking forward to this.
I am looking forward to Henley and having my parents here for so long. It will be a very busy and good week prior to leaving my Canadian home with the Klassens and returning to my Oklahoma home that is still being searched for…opps haha. All is well though we are working on it.
More to come it the week ahead.

ps. I shall post pictures from the Regatta in Welland last weekend later today hopefully.
Time for an update!
Thursday July 21, 2011
Well my computer is broken and I have been having to share with Rebecca. If anyone knows Rebecca you know how much she likes sharing….not. But my Dad is coming for two weeks tomorrow and maybe he will be able to save the poor guy.
Well I haven’t blogged in awhile because of the computer problem but I have been up to a whole lot here in Canada. Where to start though…hmmmm. Well we went out with Dan and some of his friends on Sunday night. That was fun we went to Port Dalhousie again and are planning on going again this Sunday.
For practice we have been mostly in the quad which is exciting and fun. The two times I was in the single was a little rough and I flipped yesterday because I hit a big buoy during one of the 1000 meter piece. So I technically only did 3 and 1/4 1000m pieces instead of 4.
Rebecca and I made Shepards pie for the Klassens yesterday for dinner. Cooking with Rebecca is always a fun filled experience. It turned out to be very delicious, everyone seemed to enjoy it and it is almost already all gone today. So patting myself on the back for a great dinner.
We went and played pool last night with Dan and his friend Steve for free pool night. Rebecca and I won the first game then we switch teams and Steve and I won the next three. We will probably go play again next week because it is a great deal and a lot of fun.
Oh I almost forgot on Tuesday we went and had lunch at this cute family bakery called The Pie Plate. It was delicious, I had an avocado and turkey sandwich on a freshly baked banquette. Then after lunch we went on a wine tour close by. Rebecca had the time of her life. It was a fun experience, we got to learn a lot about wine and taste three samples. We all seem to enjoy the ice wine that is native to the Niagara region and apparently it was a sample of there most expensive bottle.
Last week we also tie dyed a ton of tshirts. It was good fun activity to do through the day and our shirts turned out very colorful and interesting. Sadly I must admit that Rebecca’s two shirts turned out the best. For both of mine I didn’t quite think it all through before I started them opps. But they are still worth wearing obviously because my love for tie dye will never fail.
AHHHH! We saw Harry Potter, how could I forget such a great movie for the end of the Harry Potter era. Was wonderful, full of a great battles and emotion. It was awesome, amazing, and memorable.
So besides all that we are racing in Welland this weekend, we race the quad on the Sunday and Rebecca and Katie race the double on Saturday. So I am excited for the weekend because of my parents are both coming and we are racing the quad which has great potentially.
well that seems to be enough for now.

Tough week?
Friday July 15, 2011
About a month left here in Canada. I think it will be a bittersweet ending when the time comes.
Rebecca and I got out on Wednesday to play pool with Dan and his friend Steve. That was tons of fun and we found out we aren’t very good pool players but we are planning on going next week to so hopefully that was just a warm up day. On Thursday our cousin Joel came out to see what rowing is all about and went out in a T7 with Rebecca. He found it a lot harder than he originally thought but I think he is planning on coming again to practice a little more and see if he likes it enough. We gave him a little sweater we bout for is niece, it is a homemade knitted sweater with a purple dragon on the front…quite adorable. After the row we went to Port and sat about for a bit and talked, was quite amusing and fun to catch up with him since we rarely see our family in Canada.
Well practice was not all that tough this week, which was good…but mentally I am very tired and over thinking. Seems to have calmed down today with somewhat of a more relaxed manner, but that might be because I had my head stuck in my book all day…besides the short break to tie dye some shirts. For tie dying I seem to not fully think my ideas through but they looked better once they dried. Rebecca and I both chose to just free hand our shirts, hers turning out pretty awesome and mine might look better on.
It was too windy for practice today and I am hoping it will not be like that tomorrow for race day. We came back home and stretched and bikes plus hydrating. So hopefully everything works out for tomorrow and Sunday, where I am racing a single and in a quad.
We might go see downtown on Sunday night after racing and after we go see Harry Potter, which we almost got tickets for the midnight showing but were sold out once the credit card info was all put in…was a sad day. So I am super excited about that and have heard well unintentionally read on twitter and facebook that it is pretty dang good…making me more excited to see it.
I am off to write this horrible paper for my online class which I have been avoiding all week because I was preoccupied with some things and wanted to avoid it haha but only three weeks left of the online class and I am done! Wooo. So only three more five page papers…ekkk

Time for a blog
Tuesday July 12, 2011
Well I haven’t blogged in awhile. But here’s a short update of what I’ve been up too. We raced this past weekend. Rebecca and I got first in the double and in the quad we got third. So not a bad weekend overall. The water was a little rough. For this next weekend Katie and Rebecca will be racing the double. I am going to be racing in the single and quad. Hopefully I will do okay in the single I am a little nervous but I expect it will be a valuable learning experience for me.
I have had a few restful days to regain my strength in mind and body and realize that my friends and family are amazing and I don’t know what I would do without them. So thank you all for your help and encouraging words it means a lot to me.
Also I’d like to recognize the passing of a high school friend who passed away this past weekend. He had a warm heart and a smile that could light up any room. Rest In Peace Elvis Boyd. You are missed by more people then you know,
Now off to focus on my rowing and school. Maybe even start designing my room for next year since we finally decided on a house. I am very excited to live with Morgan and have a fun filled year awaiting us.
love to all.

Procrastination? no…
Thursday July 7th 2011
I am writing a paper for my online class, it is kind of boring kind of interesting kind of deal…Anyway this post is to say I wish I was at the Harry Potter Premiere in London right now! I am so excited to go see this movie next week…my obsession with HP has declined in the past few years but I am still a Harry Potter fanatic :) which brings me to the point of J.K Rowlings new interactive website for HP fans coming out in October…oh so very excited about this and the possibility of kind of being allowed into this magically world she created. Oh yes I know its very nerd like and all and even more nerdy of me I am actually a little more excited about the 4th book of The Inheritance series to come out in November I think I have been waiting over two years for this book to come out so I hope it is everything I can imagine…for those of you out of the loop this book is the last in the Eragon series about dragons and such…
Oh on a side not the O on my keyboard keeps popping out and attacking me. It makes me wonder how I can break a key that is smack dap in the middle of the keyboard. It confused me for awhile then I finally think I fixed it and it pops back out…maybe I just use the letter O too much…
Rowing practices this week didn’t seem all that bad so maybe I am finally used to the schedule and physical activity, making me wonder how I am gonna feel once I go back to only practice on the water at school…but to think closer to the present! We have our second race this weekend just all day Saturday here in St. Catherine’s woooo! My mom and grandma and maybe cousins will be coming to watch so thats exciting and I seem to have gotten better slowly but surely so hopefully it will go well.
Back to writing this paper now…blah.
